This item is part of OK ABLE Tech's Respite Kits, a project in partnership with the Oklahoma Human Services Community Living, Aging, and Protective Services division. Only individuals who provide care may borrow this item. Caregivers may include those caring for a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, friend, or anyone else. Applicants must be actively providing care—whether part-time, in the evenings, on weekends, or full-time. The Pocket Talker is a sound amplifier that delivers audio via headphones with up to 70-decibels of amplification. This hearing device minimizes background noise for clear listening in any environment. This assistive listening device enhances conversations, TV audio, and phone calls with its Bluetooth capabilities. It features large, colored buttons for easy volume and tone adjustment, and connects to phones and TVs. It also has one-touch emergency calls, and can be worn on the body or handheld. This amplifier can assist individuals with hearing impairments. The Pocket Talker is rechargeable and lasts up to 40 hours on one charge.

 

The device also has a downloadable app that can assist in simplified hearing assessment and pre-set profiles for a tailored experience. This device comes with a USB-C cable, charging cradle, lanyard, and two headset options (over-ear and in-ear).
