The Hand Grip & Universal Access Kit

Device Description

This kit is for a short-term loan for individuals to borrow to trial for decision making and/or a short-term accommodation. The kit includes push Eazyholds, T-shaped gripping tools, NuMuv Multi Use Grip, AttentoBoard, adaptive foam grip set, make-up grippers, and a functional hand (universal handle). The Hand Grip & Universal Access Kit is designed to support individuals who have trouble gripping, holding, or manipulating everyday items. The kit includes a variety of adaptive grip aids and universal holders that can be paired with common objects to promote independence, safety, and participation in daily activities.

Items in this kit can be added to utensils, grooming tools, writing instruments, technology styluses, leisure items, and household objects to improve grip stability and reduce hand fatigue. The variety of shapes, textures, and fastening styles allows individuals to trial different options to determine what works best for their strength, range of motion, and motor control needs. The kit can be used at home, school, work, or in therapy settings to support activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and leisure participation.

This kit may benefit individuals with:

  • Arthritis, reduced hand strength, tremors, or joint pain
  • Neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, cerebral palsy, 
    multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease)
  • Developmental or physical disabilities affecting fine motor skills
  • Age-related changes in grip and dexterity
  • Temporary affected hand function recovering from injury or surgery. 

A handout will be provided to give details for each item in the kit, including a description, key features, an information on where the item can be obtained.
