UpLift Seat Assist

Device Description

"This item is part of OK ABLE Tech's Respite Kits, a project in partnership with the Oklahoma Human Services Community Living, Aging, and Protective Services division. Only individuals who provide care may borrow this item. Caregivers may include those caring for a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, friend, or anyone else. Applicants must be actively providing care—whether part-time, in the evenings, on weekends, or full-time. To borrow this item, applicants must first complete the Respite Kit Request Form: https://forms.office.com/r/wVwMANMRPg. The UpLift Seat Assist is a self-powered lifting cushion that can assist the user with getting up from chairs. This device doesn’t use electronics, so the user doesn’t have to worry about keeping it charged or the batteries dying. Instead, it uses a lifting piston that helps to push the user up automatically as they begin to stand—this mechanism can support those who weigh 80-pounds to 230-pounds. The UpLift has a handle that makes it portable, and it has a removable knit cover to make washing easy. It measures 18-inches by 7-inches and weighs 8-pounds. "
