Device Description

Predictable is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app/language system designed to help individuals with a variety of communication difficulties communicate. Predictable is designed for individuals who can read and spell without picture symbol support. It is used by people with a wide range of diagnoses, including developmental disabilities (like autism, apraxia, and cerebral palsy) and acquired disorders (like laryngectomy, ALS, stroke, or traumatic brain injury). Predictable can be used to produce speech by anyone who can type and spell.

If the Predictable app is requested through Oklahoma ABLE Tech’s Device Loan Program, it will be downloaded on one of OK ABLE Tech’s iPads to trial.

Note:
Predictable is only available to trial on an iPad through Oklahoma ABLE Tech’s Device Loan Program; however, when acquired for long-term use Predictable can be used on an iPhone or iPad.

• Ability to save frequently used phrases.
• Ability to save frequently used phrases.
• Keyboard options to choose from (10 Key, QWERTY, ABCD, High Frequency, Apple and any other Bluetooth or downloadable keyboard).
• Ability to use word predication. Predictable learns from users’ pattern of use and predicts what the user will type in the next message. It aims to make typing easier and more efficient.
• Ability to save phrases the user needs quick access to.
• Ability to use phrases with or without symbols.
• Ability to use the notepad for on-screen handwriting that works with the word prediction.
• Ability to change appearance by changing font, colors, and other settings.
• Option for high contrast.
• Ability to increase the size of the word prediction text.
• Ability to attach videos, images, and message-banked files.
• A large selection of customizable emojis and the ability to attach recording to emojis.
• When the app is acquired for long-term use, there is the ability to use Predictable during phone calls.

Voice Options Include:

• 26 language options.
• Compatible with the on-device iOS voices, including the enhanced voices available to download.
• When the app is acquired for long-term use, ability to use voice-banked voice from ModelTalker, Acapela, My-own-voice, and SpeakUnique.
• Ability to change the rate and pitch of the iOS voices.

Accessibility Features Include:

• Switch access via external switch (will need additional accessories).
• Face switch: use face gestures to trigger a selection.
• Compatible with the iOS method of scanning.
• Configurable settings for auto or user scan.
• Touch Anywhere: use the whole screen as a switch with scanning.
• Head tracking: use facial recognition to interact with the app.
• Selection triggers: blink, smile, frown, etc. to select items on the screen.
• Scan & Tracking: combine different progression and selection access methods.
