This item is part of OK ABLE Tech's Respite Kits, a project in partnership with the Oklahoma Human Services Community Living, Aging, and Protective Services division. Only individuals who provide care may borrow this item. Caregivers may include those caring for a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, friend, or anyone else. Applicants must be actively providing care—whether part-time, in the evenings, on weekends, or full-time. The MyGuardian Pendant for Falls and SOS is a fall monitor that connects via Bluetooth to its associated app. It can connect to eight different devices, so that up to eight caregivers can monitor the wearer's location, fall status, motion, and step-counting. It alerts the wearer when it detects a fall, administers an SOS call, has low battery, and is offline from Bluetooth connections. To contact the caregiver, the wearer can press the button on the pendant. This pendant has a connection range of 10-meters to 30-meters and has a battery life of 240-days. It weighs 18-grams.
