Time Timer Braille

Device Description

Time Timer Braille 8 is a visual and tactile timing device designed to make the passage of time accessible through both sight and touch. This device functions as assistive technology by combining a high-contrast visual countdown with embossed Braille markings and tactile features, allowing individuals to understand time using multiple sensory inputs.
The Time Timer Braille 8 can support individuals who are blind or have low vision, as well as individuals who benefit from tactile feedback or structured visual supports for time management. It may also be helpful for individuals with differences in attention, executive functioning, or sensory processing who benefit from clear, predictable time cues. The combination of visual and tactile elements allows the device to be used in inclusive settings where individuals have different access needs.
The timer provides a sixty-minute countdown using a bold, high-contrast disk that gradually decreases as time passes, clearly showing how much time remains. Embossed Braille numbers and an open-face design allow the user to feel the timer setting and track time through touch. A tactile set bar enables users to independently adjust the timer, supporting hands-on interaction and increasing independence. An optional audible alert can be turned on or off to indicate when time has elapsed, depending on user preference.
The device can be placed flat on a surface using rubberized feet or positioned upright with foldable supports for easy visibility and access. The unit measures approximately seven and one-half inches in height, seven and one-half inches in width, and just over one inch in depth.
